Zamuxolo Matiwana (South Africa) was born and bred in Makhanda in the Eastern Cape Province. He studied Journalism at the Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha formerly known Port Elizabeth and postgraduate at Rhodes University in Makhanda.
He worked as a journalist and freelance journalist in Gqeberha, before crossing the floor to communication.
He is passionate about indigenous languages and the role that they can play in making science communication accessible in South Africa. He hopes to continue contributing in this area in the future in various roles.
He is currently working for the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement, a business unit of the National Research Foundation.
