EARTH OBSERVATION (EO) DIPLOMATIC CIRCLE BREAKFAST
The SDCfA hosted the Earth Observation (EO) Diplomatic Circle Breakfast, for foreign country Ambassadors and representatives of missions, based in South Africa.
The EO Breakfast marked an important milestone in the roadmap towards hosting the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Ministerial Summit and Plenary that took place in Cape Town from 6 to 10 November 2023. This highly interactive event provided information and dialogue on GEO and its global efforts and partnerships to improve the availability, access, and use of EO for socio-economic and environmental benefit, particularly on the African continent.
The EO Industry Breakfast provided an opportunity to discuss:
- GEO and the role of regional and national coordination and engagement on Earth Observations;
- The benefits of joining GEO; and
- The Ministerial Summit and the role of the Missions in facilitating participation of Ministers in the GEO Ministerial Summit and Plenary taking place in Cape Town in November 2023.
