HIGH-LEVEL CONSULTATION EVENT – SCIENTIFIC ADVICE AND RESEARCH FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
A high-level consultation event was held from 17 to 18 July 2023 as one of the first legacy events of the World Science Forum 2022 on the all-important theme of: “Scientific Advice and Research for Social Justice“.
The background to this series of events is a grass-roots, bottom-up, initiative launched in June 2017 in Cape Town and supported by the then Minister of Science and Technology, to hold a mirror up to evidence-based policy-making inside Africa, and to hear from Africa on its own terms and in its full voice. The conference also included “Finalising the Cape Town Declaration on Science for Social Justice”.
